The 2000s (sorry to the ‘99s Juvenile) was the best time for pop music, especially for groups of any sort. Boy Bands, BritPop, Solo Songbirds, and of course–girl groups.
Over the last week, I binged Girls5eva, the formerly Peacock-bound show from the brain of Meredith Scardino that is now streaming on Netflix. It’s got Tina Fey all over it (including her love of weird Black jokes…) and it makes sense ‘cos not only are a bunch of her friends in it—Paula Pell and Reneé Elise Goldsberry star in the show—but she is also an EP.
I wound up in Girls5eva-ville because I had just finished a rewatch of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and I am positive that if you gave me 45 minutes, 3 TVs, and a new Macbook I could prove that both shows live in the same universe and the link is somehow Titus Andromedon.
